Photo rejuvenation in Toorak

Photo rejuvenation is a non invasive treatment which uses IPL technology.

What does photo rejuvenation treat?

It is designed to reduce the effects of photo ageing such as pigmentaton, fine lines and wrinkles. It is also used for the treatment on capillaries, to reduce redness and for rosacea.

How does photo rejuvenation work?

Photo rejuvenation treatments work best on lighter toned skins as the IPL technology is attracted to darker melanin an haemoglobin which in turn causes a coagulation and destruction of targeted lesions. Hence photo rejuvenation is not suitable on tanned or dark complexions, including recent sun exposure an even self tanning products if they are present on the skin.

The IPL treatments involve little to no side effects, immediately after the treatment you may be red and slightly puffy, this generally lasts up to 24 hours. The pigment will appear darker and after about 7-10 days it will lighten.

Does it hurt?

Most people describe the treatment as a sensation similar to the flicking of rubber bands on the skin. For a few hours after the photo rejuvenation treatment the area may feel like it is sun burnt.

How many sessions will I need?

Depending on the severity of your condition you may need 2-4 sessions.
